Questions to ask a swimwear production partner

A credible partner should help turn broad questions into written decisions. Use these prompts to test whether the proposed process fits your product, order size and destination market.

Product and capacity

  • Which swimwear constructions and product categories can be supported?
  • What information is needed to assess feasibility?
  • How are capacity and production timing confirmed for a specific order?
  • Which operations or specialist processes require additional qualification?

Quantities and commercial terms

  • Does the minimum apply by style, colour, fabric or total order?
  • Which costs are excluded from the unit quotation?
  • When do sampling, material booking and bulk payments become due?
  • How are changes after approval priced and scheduled?

Sampling and approvals

  • What does each sample stage approve?
  • How should fit comments and revisions be recorded?
  • Which materials or trims may be provisional in early samples?
  • What becomes the final reference for bulk production?

Quality and inspection

  • Which checkpoints are built into production?
  • Are checks based on written measurements and the approved sample?
  • Can the buyer arrange an independent pre-dispatch inspection?
  • How are defects, tolerances and corrective actions handled?

Documentation and destination requirements

  • What business-verification information can be provided?
  • Which facility certificates are relevant, current and shareable?
  • Which material or product tests are required for the destination and retailer?
  • Who prepares shipping documents and confirms the delivery term?
Important distinction: a factory certificate does not automatically certify a sourcing partner, a material or every finished product. Confirm the named owner, site, scope and validity of each document.
